Project Title:
Paul Nelson Photography Web site

Agency:
Catalyst Studios

Photographer Paul Nelson needed a website that he could use post his portfolio and contact information. Easy of use (simple navigation) was an important component, encouraging visitors to stay on the site and review his work. This Web site is a companion piece to a new identity and letterhead system that was finished right before the website launched.

Project Summary (75 words or less):

Photographer Paul Nelson needed a website that he could use post his portfolio and contact information. Easy of use (simple navigation) was an important component, encouraging visitors to stay on the site and review his work. This Web site is a companion piece to a new identity and letterhead system that was finished right before the website launched.

1. What was the purpose of the project? (business objectives, design challenges)

An online portfolio that allows potential clients to review work. It was a challenge to organize and show the work in a way that people would understand and not have to dig too deep to find what they were looking for.

2. What was your measurement for success?

A site that our client loved, that showcased (and didn't overpower) his work.

3. Who are the target user(s)? (user profile: demographics, abilities, needs/goals)

Potential and existing clients, art buyers who are evaluating Mr. Nelson's work for potential hire.

4. What is the desired user experience for each? (behaviors/actions)

Spending time on the site, reviewing work and ultimately contacting Mr. Nelson about a potential project.

5. What were the project parameters or constraints you were working within? (integration with existing site, technology requirements, limited budget, etc.)

A small budget, and a new identity that this website needed to incorporate.

6. What process and/or methodologies did your team use during the project? (usability research, wireframes, etc.)

Wireframes

7. What have the results/response been to date? (increased sales, visit duration, etc.)

Our client is very pleased with the finished product, and we hope that his website visitors turn into clients!
