Project Summary (75 words or less):

We always wanted to shoot a politician out of a cannon, and felt even more compelled to do so during a presidential election. We tracked each users scores and kept a database of our own election results.

1. What was the purpose of the project? (business objectives, design challenges)

To have a little bit of fun with the upcoming election and a little self promotion.

2. What was your measurement for success?

Seeing how many people were playing the game, and how many people were sending the link off to their friends.

3. Who are the target user(s)? (user profile: demographics, abilities, needs/goals)

Anyone and everyone that was interested in the Presidential Election last year.

4. What is the desired user experience for each? (behaviors/actions)

The desired experience was to have each user feel like they were a part of our own political process. We kept track of their individual scores and compiled the individual results to form our own election results.

5. What were the project parameters or constraints you were working within? (integration with existing site, technology requirements, limited budget, etc.)

There was a lot of backend data processing of each users score and keeping track of the national average score.

6. What process and/or methodologies did your team use during the project? (usability research, wireframes, etc.)

Storyboards

7. What have the results/response been to date? (increased sales, visit duration, etc.)

A huge response from the game, we were featured on various blog sites, national sites, and was picked up by the associated press as well.
